A Man and His Brush

 I grew up in a small town and caught the bug from my barber/sign painter father. I was fascinated with hand lettering stock cars in the 1970's, and my passion grew. Searched out local sign painters who became heroes. Was hired in 2 sign shops, volunteered 3 years in U.S. Army (1981-1984), and went out on my own in 1989. Discovered the "Letterheads" group in 1988, and that changed everything. I have not only traveled the world, but also have appeared in "The Sign Painter Movie" (2012), as well as the documentary "Man with a Brush" (2015).

The 2020 Pandemic saw a big change in the world...and my location! After being raised and worked in Mazeppa, Minnesota since 1964, I found a large, vacant church in Chester, Iowa. This is now my home, studio, and classroom.
